An accomplished lawyer based in Auckland, Jason has experience in all ranges of litigation. His career began in 2015 as a criminal defence lawyer which eventually expanded into different areas of litigation including Family , Civil and Employment. He began honing his skills as a Barrister and Solicitor under one of Auckland’s most highly-regarded criminal defence lawyers. He has since worked under Wells & Co, a boutique firm with branches in Remuera and Howick and home to a highly qualified group of Auckland solicitors. As of 2026, Jason returned to the offices of Michael Kan Law Ltd as a Barrister and Solicitor with a renewed focus on Trial Advocacy.




Jason’s experience as a criminal defence lawyer covers a very wide array of cases in varied areas of law including sexual cases, drugs cases, violence cases, and more. Under Lawyer and conveyancers rules we accept a retainer which is an amount of money that you pay to so as to be sure that we can work for you when you need us to.
The hourly rate of Jason Yang is subject to change however as of October 2023 the hourly rate is $350.00 per hour plus GST.
